Custom Link Widget Plugin For WordPress

by Pankaj Biswas on April 4, 2012

Custom Link Widget Plugin is a Free WordPress plugin which allows you to add Hyperlinks directly using a Widget. This is quite similar to WordPress Link widget.

Whats the difference?

You don’t have to add links in LINKS section, instead of that you have to put the Link URL and Link Name in the widget, it will do the rest. Also, you will get an option to select the numbers of links to display.

Download Custom Link Widget Plugin From Here or From WordPress Plugin Directory

Can you update your plugin, so it opens links in a new window please?

I really like this plugin, but it is definitely missing this 1 important feature. I’d gladly give a donantion if it had the option to open links in new windows.

I, too, would like the option for the links to open in a new window. Is this an option that you have added? if so, where can I find it?

Hi, Just started with your Plugin and great it can open in a new window. It would be a nice touch it was possible to resize the window, ie more like a popup window. As I need to keep people on the page, but let them see the other information at the same time.
Great Plugin

I deactivated your widget to solve a problem, and then reactivated, all the links have gone. I have a site back-up, what files should re-install?

Pankaj October 24, 2012 at 10:32 am

Hi Pete,
You need to restore the database.

I had the hosting company re-install, so everything is working again. Can I just copy over my WP files with a new installation and use the old DB?

Thanks for your support, great Plugin it is at

Hi Pankaj,

Thank you very much for your work here! If I may make one suggestion, it would be excellent to be able to alphabetize the links and/or move the order of the links. This will be helpful when adding new links to the list. For now I have no problem doing this manually but it would be a terrific feature.

Hi there,
Thank you for the suggestion. I will keep it in mind while updating next time.

Very nice plugin. Does the job pretty well!

One little thing: What about anchor, ALT text support for links? I`m looking forward to see future updates of this plugin.
